Abstract :
Nowadays, characteristics analysis of doubly salient electro-magnet machine is mostly about starter or generator separately, while transient characteristics of switching from starter to generator are less studied. Process of switching from starter to generator is an important part of the whole starter/generator system. In this paper, integral MATLAB model of doubly salient electro-magnet starter/generator is given, and method for switching from starter to generator of doubly salient electro-magnet start/generator is proposed. The transient characteristics of switching from starter to generator are presented. Simulation results of the MATLAB model and experimental results of the prototype are given to confirm the validity of the method proposed and to verify the theoretical analysis.
