Abstract
A dual mechanical ports electric machine (DMPM) with clutch is used as an electrical variable transmission (EVT) in hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). In this paper, the working principle and advantages of this novel converter is explained. Then a method of power parameters matching design for DMPM with clutch considering the fuel economy and power performance based on driving cycle is presented and the simulation model is built in Matlab/Simulink. Based on the power and torque demands of DMPM with clutch in driving cycle, the rated torque and rated power of DMPM with clutch are matched. The results of parameters matching design are evaluated according to road performance and drivability. According to the analysis results, the methods presented in this paper can be served as the power parameters matching design of DMPM with clutch because it not only consider the fuel economy, but also meet the requirement of power performance.
