Abstract
The small signal model of a smart power IC is one of the most important elements for a power system design. This paper presents a measurement-based small signal modeling method for the smart power IC. This method is referred to as sampling the duty cycle output and the control signal input of the smart power IC with the ICpsilas switching frequency. The duty ratio and the control signal are converted into digital data and the data are then transferred into a computer for processing. The smart power ICpsilas transfer function and dynamic model are finally synthesized from measurement data. The result of the modeling experiment is presented for the continuous conduction mode. The practicality and effectiveness are verified through the experiment.
