Abstract :
Numerous researchers have already been involved in for designing, driving and optimizing RTWUSM, such as the control model of the whole USM system, the no-load speed, the maximum output power, the characteristic about torque to the frequency, etc. USM has been widely manufactured for civil use in Japan, military using in USA and Germany, and other uses in many European and Asia country. But fewer ASIC chip research finding for driving and controlling USM have been reported. A model of an ASIC chip for driving and controlling RTWUSM through MCM technique has been established in this paper. Based on the principle of driving and controlling the RTWUSM, an ASIC chip integrated by MCM composed of six bare chips has been designed and packaged on the silicon base plate. The 3-dimensional thermal analysis model used by finite element method (FEM) has also been built in this paper. Simulations for the driving circuit are according to the request for RTWUSM.
