Abstract
The liquid nitrogen cooled axial flux inductor type high temperature superconducting synchronous motor will be widely applied in the ship propulsion field. This paper firstly analyzes the structure and the principle of the axial flux inductor type high temperature superconducting motor. Compared with the traditional superconducting motor, this novel motor doesnpsilat adopt the devices such as: hollow shaft, brush, slip ring, rotating cryogenic vessel, so it gains more advantages. Secondly, the paper presents the effect of the inductor shape on the performance of motor .It analyses the motor output torque, torque ripple and magnetic field of the high temperature superconductor by FEM simulation. The reference for the optimum design of inductor size and electromagnetic performance is provided.
