  • Abstract
Two or more vacuum interrupters in parallel is one mode to increase the rated current capacity of vacuum circuit breaker (VCB). Because of technique restriction, traditional method is that all vacuum interrupters get the open or close order and the short-circuit arc quenching moment of paralleled breaks is different. But because the arcing time of vacuum interrupters is different, the breaking capacity of VCB is still restricted by the breaking capacity of single vacuum interrupter. With the phasing technique development, this paper puts forward one breaking theory and designs one control method for one kind of parallel double interrupter VCB based on current transfer theory. By this method it is good to increase the VCB breaking capacity. The designed VCB of double paralleled breaks is the highest break current capacity as generator outlet breaker in China, ZN square -17.5/8000-100.
