Abstract :
Proxy mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) protocol provides network based IP mobility management to a mobile node without requiring the mobile node to participate in IP mobility related signaling. A PMIPv6 domain contains multiple mobility access gateways (MAGs) and local mobility anchor (LMA), these entities are going to track the mobile nodepsilas movements and advertise the same prefix to the mobile node so that the mobile node feels like it is always on the same link. However, PMIPv6 does not utilize the existing Route Optimization (RO) protocol defined for Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) while the mobile node communicates with corresponding node in another MAG in the PMIPv6 domain, and it causes undesirable delay to the mobile nodes. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes mobile convergence architecture which integrates mobile and local customer internetworking in passive optical networks technologies, called LAN-PON. Based on these integrated architectures, we elaborate on packet delay and improve throughput of bandwidth, as being able to use RO in PMIPv6 domain.
