Abstract
In UDP over Optical Burst Switching (OBS) network, congestion control is more important than other factors because burst losses cause serious performance decrease. Due to no congestion control in UDP, we propose a method to avoid congestion situation in UDP over OBS using session initiation protocol (SIP) in application layer. From numerical analysis, we can predict limiting the number of session in SIP server and SIP messages prioritization may protect from congestion in advance.
