Abstract :
The capacity and bit error rate (BER) performance of joint antenna selection at the transmitter and receiver for multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems has not been examined over spatially correlated channels. We present a novel low complexity joint antenna selection algorithm based on the adaptive Markov chain Monte Carlo (AMCMC) optimization to maximize the channel capacity and minimize the system BER with a linear receiver. We evaluate the system performance in terms of several physical parameters, such as the total angle spread and the cluster angle spread.
