Abstract :
Beat frequency of FMCW radar contains the range information. The factors which influence the detection range of FMCW radar are discussed including the attenuation of the electromagnetic wave and the energy of FFT processing. For getting the range information more effectively, this paper presents a new idea of two channels FMCW radar system for getting remote object range information. This system has been simulated based on the MATLAB. The simulation shows that this new system can improve the detection range twice over conventional system.
