Abstract
The design of QoS routing protocols for mobile ad hoc networks is a challenging issue. In selecting the most optimal route from source to destination, one has to choose from a set of routes with the corresponding connectivity qualities. In this paper, we proposed a modeling scheme that implement QoS routing using genetic algorithm. The route selected had to satisfy bandwidth, delay and node connectivity index. The modeling of the algorithm is outlined by building the framework using Opnet modeler. The overall structure of the algorithm and its implementations are explained laboriously. Simulation experiments are performed for 40 mobile nodes to predict its performances based on the effect of congestion level. The results shows an improvement GA based QoS routing over other types of mobile ad hoc networks routing, DSR and AODV.
