Abstract :
Nowadays, with the prevalence of digital content and Internet, a variety of digital applications and intelligent home appliances are more involved in daily family life. People are no longer satisfied with the simple experience from single digital application or intelligent home appliance, but feel more obliged to the implementation of domestic network to connect these appliances and share the media resources. The digital media adapter (DMA) is one of the most popular products to achieve this goal. This paper is focused on the research of realization of the DMA based on DLNA (digital living network alliance). It begins with the introduction of DLNA protocol and puts forward the construction of DMA based on DLNA, then it elaborates on the realization mechanism of the UPNP (universal plug and play) thread module and the GUI (graphics user interface) thread module and the corresponding mechanism between them. Finally, it gives a detailed example to explain the realization of DMA. With the research of DMA based on DLNA, the architecture we bring forward is universal and can be applied to the realization of DMA based on other digital home network protocol (e.g. IGRS (intelligent grouping and resource sharing)).
