Abstract :
In this paper, tracking a manoeuvring target with a phased array is considered. A new algorithm, called the Adaptive Multi Rate Interacting Multiple models (AMRIMM) algorithm is presented. The AMRIMM algorithm adds to the MRIMM the ability to select the next update time adaptively, according to the motion of target. In this algorithm, the manoeuvring model operates at full rate, while the non manoeuvring model operates at half rate. A discrete wavelet transform is used to solve the problem raised by the difference in the update rate between the two models. The performances of the AMRIMM algorithm are compared to that of the MRIMM algorithm and the IMM algorithm that use a fixed update time, via Monte Carlo simulations.
