Title :
CEDAR TSB road-pricing technology trial
Abstract :
This paper presents the CEDAR TSB road-pricing technology trials. The overall aims of the project are to: demonstrate that time-distance-place (TDP) charging can work reliably over extended periods of time, for different charging regimes; demonstrate that the service delivered meets users´ requirements; and address DfT requirements. The specific objectives are to: demonstrate that the technology works reliably for different charging regimes in a representative area of Southern England; use more advanced on-board equipment than in the TfL trials; understand how a complete system can influence the behavioural response of private & commercial drivers; identify additional value-added applications of the technology; and assess the potential to reduce congestion and pollution.
