Abstract
A novel compact dual-frequency planar inverted-F antenna for Bluetooth and WLAN applications is presented. The antenna owns the feature of compact operation and can be easily placed in the display panel of the laptop computer. The F-shaped slot and ladder notches configuration is employed to satisfy the technical requirements of the WLAN antennas. The antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth of 400 MHz (2.21~2.61 GHz) in Bluetooth band and 1070 MHz (4.95~6.02 GHz) in WLAN band. The gain of the antenna changes from 3.1 dBi to 6.7 dBi.
