Abstract :
Supporting delay sensitive real-time applications such as video and voice over wireless LAN (WLAN) mesh networks is a challenging and attractive task. An efficient scheduling scheme is proposed to improve quality of service (QoS) in WLAN mesh networks, which includes a centralized scheduling scheme (CSS) for traffic in basic service set (BSS) and a distributed scheduling scheme (DSS) for traffic in relay mesh point (MP) of extended service set (ESS). Simulation results show that the proposed scheduler significantly improves QoS in terms of packet loss rate and delay metrics.
