Abstract
Systems of integro-differential equations have utility in modelling both large flexible structures and structures floating in the ocean. The integro-differential equations model the infinite order auxiliary dynamics that can otherwise be modeled by partial differential equations. This paper addresses the problem of determining, for such systems, an optimal feedback controller in the form of a fixed order dynamic compensator.
