Abstract
Large industrial projects and processes which consists of a member of subprojects or subprocesses are modelled as two level large scale dynamic systems. The control functions are divided into two categories. The first is a set of local controllers which are functions of the local states of the subproject. These controllers are used to control the subprojects executions irrespective of the interconnections between the subsystems. The second controller is a global controller applied by a higher level controlling group. The main goal of this control function is to make the local control as effective as possible. This is done by minimizing the effect of the interconnections between the subsystems. The method proposed is illustrated by a numerical example.
