Abstract :
The temperature control regulator for a single panel of a solar-powered central receiver was designed in [1] on the basis of a family of linear models. This paper uses a simple, nonlinear, thermodynamic model of the panel for a study which compares the response predicted on the basis of the synthesis model to that actually obtained using the nonlinear model. For the conditions examined here, the linear model provides an accurate approximation of the response characteristics of the global model.
