Abstract :
This work presents simple tuning relationships for PID controllers, both continuous (analog or microprocessor) and discrete (computer), that have proven effective for processes with significant dead time. A dynamic simulator package that has been used effectively for PID controller tuning experimentation, verification, and engineer training is described.
