Abstract :
A three-part analysis "language" has been presented. This "language" is composed of a related set of models of system states, transformation processes, and data. The actual proportion of these three models used on a given project would, of course, vary with the nature of the project that is being studied. A complete specification would also include required timing, loading, and response characteristics. The resulting system model is understandable, partitionable, and a useful input to the design phase. In combination with a set of techniques to help develop these models and a methodology used for project management and control, this analysis requirements modeling tool has been used successfully on a number of projects; both the process control and aerospace industries.
