Abstract :
The problem of BTT control in a CLOS guidance system is placed in an Optimal Control context. A distinguishing feature of the problem formulation is the penalty on large roll rates. Preliminary results indicate that moderate roll rate penalties can be employed to advantage despite considerable numerical problems in computing the corresponding control.
