Abstract :
A new algorithm for single-input and single-output digital control was published in 1979 (1). This paper probes deeper into the nature of that algorithm. It is shown that the algorithm is neither a Smith-predictor nor a PID based technique. While it is comparable to the Dahlin´s or the PID method for the lower order processes, this algorithm is particularly suitable for the higher order processes of arbitrary step response shape.
