Abstract
For over two years St. Regis has been working on a mill-wide energy control and optimization project in conjunction with the Department of Energy. Due to the nature of the technology being developed, the viability of this type of project could only be demonstrated in a mill environment, and our integrated kraft mill in Monticello, Mississippi was selected as the test site. The study phase of the project has been completed and the implementation phase is now scheduled for 1984.
