Abstract
A method is presented for the analysis of limit cycle behavior in a class of high order multivariable systems with multiple nonlinearties. Limit cycle solutions are obtained using harmonic balance methods. The stability of the limit cycle is determined using techniques of variational calculus as well as topological considerations. The concept of a consistent perturbation is discussed and linear transformations are used to simplify the process of limit cycle stability determination.
