Abstract
When high order systems are controlled using self-tuning techniques, the necessary computation can be time consuming and as such, low cost implementation may not always be possible. In this paper a simplified self-tuner based on a deadbeat control strategy, which is capable of dealing with unknown or varying system time delays, is described. Both simulation and practical implementation studies show satisfactory regulation, tracking and adaptive properties.
