  • Abstract
The accurate pointing control of a nelicopter chain-gun is a challenging task owing to the harsh and uncertain vibration environment caused by: aerodynamics, rotor-induced vibrations, recoil-induced vibrations, structural dynamics, etc. In this paper a candidate design for such a pointing control system, based on the principles of disturbance-accommodating control theory, is developed. Because the environmental disturbances have "waveform structure," the designed controller is able to automatically identify and effectively cancel the disturbance effects in real-time.
