Abstract
In this paper, we introduce the concepts of zero models and pole models for the multivariable systems. The definitions are different from the existing definitions of poles and zeros for multivariable systems, they reflect more structural informations for the systems, and can be used to study the external properties of the systems. The pole models and zero models in the closed-loops are also discussed. It will be shown that the zero models of the closed loop systems play a key role in the tracking and rejection problem.
