Abstract :
This paper discusses a technique which promises to significantly enhance the capability of many existing armored vehicle fire control systems to better service maneuvering targets. The basic technique described in this paper allows for the transformation of existing driven reticle systems to emulate a gun director system by relatively simple signal flow changes which do not require any additional hardware. The net effect of decoupling the reticle servo from the weapon turret stabilization drive is to achieve the cumulative advantages of both systems.
