Abstract :
The paper discusses various concepts of process alarm analysis and disturbance analysis system, presents the essential features of a few computer based alarm systems in different control environments and reviews the emerging possibilities of artificial intelligence in constructing an optimal man-machine interface for supervision of complex automatically controlled processes.
