Abstract :
The use of an optimal state-space type structure that minimizes sensitivity with respect to coefficient variations of the system model is described. A neutral type of state-space realization is first introduced as a realization of a given delay system that is characterized by its transfer function. A reasonable sensitivity measure is then introduced and related to reachability and observability Gramians. The task of sensitivity minimization can then be resolved by a standard optimization approach.
