Abstract
In recent previous works, dealing with the terminal phase of the missile-aircraft encounter in noisy environment, a new approach of "mixed guidance strategy" was proposed for an assumed planar geometry. If the target aircraft maneuvers and applies electronic jinking simultaneously, the problem becomes a three-dimensional one. The present paper investigates this problem and shows that in a three dimensional scenario the optimal "mixed" guidance strategy has to be determined by a genuine three-dimensional design procedure.
