Abstract :
An indirect adaptive controller is derived for a class of linear time-varying discrete-time systems with unmodeled dynamics. System parameters are estimated using a modified recursive least squares algorithm with a variable forgetting factor. An adaptive controller is then constructed which results in a globally asymptotically stable closed-loop system when the rate of variation of plant parameters is sufficiently small.
