Abstract
This paper presents a method for isolating failures which can be modeled as changes in parameters of the system matrix A of a linear, time-invariant dynamic system. The method is capable of determining parameters which have changed and the size of the change in the presence of modeling errors and noise. The failure isolation method is illustrated using simulations of an F-16 aircraft with battle-damaged control surfaces and failing actuators.
