Abstract :
Presented are methods for the automated design and implementation of a Generalized Predictive Controller. Also presented is a general method for the diagnosis of process excitation, and the subsequent exploitation of diagnosed dynamic data for controller adaptation. The methods are demonstrated on a simulated single-input single-output reactor process that demonstrates an inverse, nonlinear, variable dead time behavior.
