Abstract :
This paper presents an improved guidance law for the terminal zoom climb in a medium-range air-to-air interception. The improvement is obtained by replacing the constant-energy model by a so-called "intermediate" vehicle model. A comparison with exact open-loop solutions shows that a substantial improvement can be obtained in both control behavior and pay-off accuracy.
