  • Abstract
This paper describes the Ecole Polytechnique course of one session (14 weeks) relating to the control system theory. The aim of this course consists of confronting the students to the difficulties of the industrial control applications. The prototype processes which are actually used are autonomous vehicle, robot, and hydraulic press. The course covers the material of identification techniques and the design of controller of discrete systems using state space and transfer function. For each process, the students have to build a model, and design controller which satisfy some given performance specifications. The course is taught one session a year by the Mechanical Engineering Department.
