Abstract :
We propose a new technique for observer design for linear implicit systems. A very general observer system is first formed from the given system matrices. By using different minimization techniques on this system. a number of known observer design techniques can be derived. In addition, by using, a minimization based on a minimal covering system. In certain cases it is possible to obtain an observer of lower order than standard techniques.
