Abstract
Decentralized Stable Factors (DSF) are introduced to extend the results of Stable Factorization to the design of decentralized controllers. A parametrization of all the stabilizing decentralized controllers is presented using the DSF. This parametrization is in the form of a Youla parametrization with a decentralised controller providing the central controller. In addition, the parameters must satisfY an interaction constraint which depends On the DSF. Connections with some of the available results on decentralized control systems are established. State-space algorithm are developed for the synthesis of DSF using two different decentralized control structures.
