Abstract
The problem of stabilization under decentralized information structure for linear time-invariant systems is considered in this paper. Introducing the concept of quotient systems, a subset of the fixed modes, called quotient fixed modes, of the decentralized control systems is identified. The necessary and sufficient condition, stated in terms of the quotient fixed modes, for the existence of a solution to the decentralized problem is obtained.
