Abstract
This paper describes a computer-aided tool that optimizes a controller with respect to some design specifications. The program allows the user to graphically define the system and simulate it to check if the specifications are met. If they are not, optimization may be used to adjust the controller until an optimal or suboptimal (but acceptable) design that satisfies the specifications is found. Analytical methods of controller design may also be included in the optimization/design process to ensure that the design has desirable properties. We demonstrate this software with two examples.
