Abstract :
Conventional fixed parameter turbogenerator voltage regulators can give an inferior response when subjected to disturbances in a regime of operation significantly removed from that where the initial settings were made. The paper describes the use of a self-tuning control strategy for voltage regulation of turbogenerators which overcomes these difficulties. The performance of the new controller is evaluated by implementation on a laboratory model turbogenerator.
