Abstract :
We describe the design of an l-optimal linear control system with integrated control and diagnostic modules. It is shown that the solution to the design problem can be set up as & linear programming problem. The paper provides an l. framework to delineate the tradeoffs that govern the integrated control and diagnostic objectives. The effect of modeling errors is incorporated in the construction of alarm thresholds.
