Abstract
A state feedback design method for single input, time invariant discrete time linear systems is proposed. The proposed approach differs from competitive designs such as pole placement design and linear quadratic design in the sense that the obtained class of control laws contains only one user parameter. The parameter is intimately connected to the desired settling time of the closed loop the system.
