Abstract :
The cross stream transfer behaviour of the counter current and parallel beat exchangers can be approximated by reduced-order models. The parameters in these reduced-order models are nonlinear functions of stream velocities. Since it is the flowrates that are usually manipulated to control the temperature of the target temperature, these non-linear relations are of significant relevance to the control problem.
