  • Abstract
The monitoring of processes by means of sensor measurements is the subject of increased development. This paper presents a technique for generating state space model from strictly empirical process observations. Piecewise connected cubic splines are applied to describe the sensor output and provide a uniform basis for the formulation of a state model.
