  • Abstract
A driver simulation used in dynamical engine test stands is discribed which may be used to control the velocity and acceleration during exhaust emission test cycles. A model of the car body including drive line, differential and wheels has been developed and implemented on the test stand to simulate the dynamics of load changes occurring in a driving vehicle. A comparison between a human driver and the control results of the driver simulation (realized as a digital controller) is presented and discussed.
