Abstract
Tribology is the science of friction and wear. In tribology, long effort has been devoted to the study of the physics and dynamics of friction. Controls is concerned with the dynamics of servo machines, but the friction models used for controls analysis are often very basic. This paper presents a brief outline of tribological results important for control.
