Abstract
A method based on bounded real lemma is presented for designing observer-based proper reduced-order H∞ compensators. The proposed compensators are shown to include the strictly proper full-order central H∞ compensators as a special class. A compensator design algorithm along with a numerical example is included to illustrate the use of the proposed compensator design equations.
