Abstract :
This paper describes the new power feeding system for remote terminals of an optical fiber data highway in buildings or on the premises. Our developed new power feeding system has features the following techniques to enhance reliability and design flexibility. (1) A combination of remote and local power feeding system is used. (2) This power feeding system can be applied flexibly for a larger scale system. (3) The remote power feeding system is duplicated. (4) This power supplies of the central terminal equipment(CTE) located adjacent to the computer are distributed in each functional block. (5) The remote power feeding unit contains saturable reactors operated in constrained mode, which are widely used as high reliable constant current device in submarine cable power feeding systems. (6) The remote power receiving unit contains ringing choke converter because of their simple circuit features.
